Christmas Tree Festival (December)

Last Christmas we took part in sponsoring a Xmas tree at St. Mary’s church Christmas Tree Festival. The children decided our name would be "wishing on a star" so we made lots of star shaped decorations to go on the tree. Sadly the children could not all come to help decorate it so we went after school once the festival was open and enjoyed looking at all the trees including our own.

Birdworld (August)

Birdworld near Farnham was one of our longer days out. Here the children can enjoy seeing hundreds of different species of birds, visit the Jenny Wren farm area and enjoy a small aquarium.

Spinnaker Tower (August)

During the summer holidays we try & visit places a little further afield. On a trip to Portsmouth we saw the Spinnaker tower before catching the harbour water bus & enjoyed seeing some of the historic ships from the water. Having crossed the harbour we visited the submarine museum which was very interesting especially being able to walk inside a submarine & see how the crew would have had to live.

Arundel Wetlands Centre (July)

We are lucky to live close to Arundel and often visit the wetlands centre where the children can feed the ducks and geese, enjoy a short boat ride through the reed beds and in the school holidays take part in pond dipping. They enjoy the excitement of dipping and emptying their nets then looking through magnifying glass to identify what they have caught, then tipping it all back in to start again.
